Dictation 1

Old and young

The old man hobbled slowly towards Jack. He gave a deep, wheezing cough as he inched forward. Jack went up to him and held his hand. Jack was wearing his favourite T-shirt which was emblazoned with a dinosaur. His usually wild mob of hair has been combed neatly for the occasion. After all, it was his grandfather’s birthday. He had reached the ripe old age of ninety. He peered at Jack through his thick glasses and gave him a toothless smile.

“Grandpa, have you forgotten your false teeth again?” Jack giggled.

His grandfather’s weather-beaten face creased into a smile. “No one noticed except for you!” he chuckled.
